The Success through Assessment & Technology Grant is designed to improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in elementary schools and secondary schools. The goal of this grant is to improve student achievement in a standardized state test score by 2%.
Title IID Grant 2007-2008
This grant is a comprehensive professional development plan which supports initiatives that enable educators to integrate technology effectively into curriculum and instruction. Any K-12 instructor within ESA Region 2 may apply to participate in this grant. Grant participants will select a state standard which poses an opportunity for improvement and use technology and formative assessment in their lesson plans in an attempt to increase student achievement in that standard. Participants will attend technology training sessions as well as work with a cognitive coach and technology integration specialist throughout the 2007-2008 school year to accomplish this goal.

Summary: Teachers realized a 21% increase in test scores from pretest to post test after utilizing formative assessment and integrating technology into two of their lesson plans. State test results indicated a 2.6% increase in student achievement for math and reading standards. The goal was met for the 2007-2008 grant year.
